Traffic measures in and around Oosterbeek
During the marching event, there are traffic measures in force in Oosterbeek to ensure the safety of walkers and visitors as well as possible. The traffic measures do not only include the closing of roads which are considered as a walking trail, but also parking and stopping prohibitions to enable an unhindered passage of emergency services. The police have announced that they will strictly monitor this.
Access to Oosterbeek with motor vehicles via the Dreijenseweg and Schelmseweg, coming from the N224, will be closed from 07.00 hours.
Regular traffic between Wageningen and Arnhem and vice versa will be diverted. Take into account a longer travel time. The main connecting roads in Oosterbeek are closed from 09.00 hours or as early as deemed necessary and until 18.00 hours, or if necessary even later in case it is still too busy. Follow the instructions by the police and traffic controllers and park only at the indicated parking locations. From there you will be transported by bus to the starting location. You are also advised to use public transport as much as possible.
By bus to Oosterbeek: (from 06.00 hours)
Bus line 1 (Velp – Arnhem - Oosterbeek and vice versa)
Line 1 drives from Velp to the bus stop Arnhems Buiten and turns there around at the roundabout; trolleybus line 1 will not drive to Oosterbeek. The bus stops Mariëndaal - Station Oosterbeek will be cancelled.
Shuttle buses
There are shuttle buses from line 1 between Arnhem NS and Oosterbeek, these only stop at the next temporary bus stops in Oosterbeek:
direction Oosterbeek: on the Beukenlaan, corner Dennenkampweg/Stationsweg and on the Hartensteinselaan just before “The Needle”.
direction Arnhem: on the Oranjeweg (at “The Needle”), corner Dennenkampweg/Stationsweg and on the corner Molenweg/Emmastraat.
Airborne return ticket €5.00.
The standard public transport chip card rate applies to the shuttle buses. Travelers without a public transport chip card can buy a special Airborne return ticket Arnhem NS – Oosterbeek from the ticket sales staff at the station for €5.00.
Bus line 51 (Arnhem – Wageningen and vice versa)
Line 51 runs a modified route in Oosterbeek and Doorwerth. The bus stops Oosterbeek Vogelweg until Heveadorp Wilhelmilaan will be cancelled. Instead, line 51 stops at certain temporary bus stops:
direction Wageningen: on the Beukenlaan, corner Dennenkampweg/Stationsweg and on the Hartensteinselaan just before “The Needle”.
direction Arnhem: on the Oranjeweg (at “The Needle”), corner Dennenkampweg/Stationsweg and on the corner Molenweg/Emmastraat.
Bus line 352 (Arnhem – Wageningen and vice versa)
Line 352 runs a modified route in Oosterbeek. The bus stops Beukenlaan until Airborne museum will be cancelled. Instead, line 352 stops at certain temporary bus stops:
direction Wageningen: on the Beukenlaan, corner Dennenkampweg/Stationsweg and on the Hartensteinselaan just before “The Needle”.
direction Arnhem: on the Oranjeweg (at “The Needle”), corner Dennenkampweg/Stationsweg and on the corner Molenweg/Emmastraat.

By train to Oosterbeek:
The organization advises walkers and spectators of the Airborne March to travel as much as possible by train to Oosterbeek, to avoid missing the start due to traffic jams. From the train station it is only a 10-minute walk to the starting point of the Airborne March.
On every first Saturday of September, the NS (Dutch Railways) will be running longer trains and more trains stop at Oosterbeek station.
By bicycle to Oosterbeek:
The beautiful surroundings in and around Oosterbeek are perfect for coming to Oosterbeek by bicycle. Parking areas for the bicycle have been designated up at the Sonnenberglaan and Talsmalaan. From there you walk in just a few minutes to the starting area.
Storing bicycles next to the entrances of the starting area or on its premises is not permitted. These will be removed (at your own expense).
By car to Oosterbeek:
All drivers with destination Airborne March are referred to two parking areas; one on the north side of Wolfheze and one on the west side of Doorwerth. From these parking places you will be transported by bus to (the immediate vicinity of) the start/finish area.
Follow the directions on the Matrix signs on the highway!
Central car park Airborne March, Mill Hill:
ONLY accessible via A12/E35 and N224 (Amsterdamseweg) and N783 (Wolfhezerweg).
Car park Boersberg
ONLY accessible via A50 and N225.
Please pay attention to the traffic instructions.
NOTE:
The spot where you get off the bus, you also go back on the bus to return to the parking places.
The regular bus stops of Breng are NOT a pick-up point to the parking places.
These parking places are open between 06.00 and 20.00 hours.
